spiral drill
« on: April 02, 2012, 04:13:27 PM »
Heres a spiral drill that followed me home today. No markings. Only reason for buying was I hadn't seen one like this with a screwdriver type handle. Chuck is bronze or brass or beryllium or some copper colored material. Anyone have any history on this type of drill ?  I'm guessing its older than me.

Have not seen one....
The first thing that strikes me as odd, is it has a non-keyed chuck....
Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.

Some kind of variation on the Archimedes drill, looks like.  Quite cool!
