Stahlwille Mystery Tools
« on: March 22, 2012, 07:50:58 PM »
These little jewels came from a Pawn shop in Missouri last MOnday and it appears that a cople may have need of repair.  My best guess is that they install or remove shanks or studs.  If I am correct on that, then has anyone taken one apart and how do the internals work, much less can they even be repaired???

thanks

Yup, stud removers.

There isn't much in them, 3 knurled rollers that either walk a curved inclined plane, or 3 elliptic rollers that walk in a circle and cam. Just pop the snap ring, if you want to peek...

There isn't much that can go wrong with them that doesn't result in exploding them tho....(However they generally only work for a specific range of sizes...)

Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.
