yard,garage,estate and flea markets
« on: May 22, 2011, 06:29:20 AM »
when we go to outside salesand buy a good lot. is there any way we could say in our bragging posts whether the stuff is for sale and if anyone is interested they could contact. i can not get to many outside sales because i am married to a wneel chair and not only is the grounds tough going i have to have  my wife drive and you know how most wives feel about flea markets.
yard sales are out of the question because every one means dragging out and putting back the chair. it would be like haveing our own pickers. most of us have an idea as to what the others are interested in/ just an idea to help one another mostly ME   bob w.

I'd rather members would list items for sale, but I suppose a hint could be given, say - state that poster would accept private messages on items of interest.

Most anything I collect, I do with.....
A. The intention of not sinking my life savings into these "window dressing" tools.
B. Saving old tools from the scrap pile if there's any chance of them getting back to some semblance of restoration or usage.
C. The intention of hanging on to it, but most of you out there are much more serious collectors than I will ever be.

If I post something that one of you need for filling out a set, I'd be happy to sell it at fair market value or cheaper, depending on what I have in it.  My wife's not going to let me lose money on any of this stuff!! The only brands I intend on hanging on to for life are anything Hinsdale and the Plombs, especially the pebble-grained hand wrenches.  As far as hand tools, those wrenches are right up there with the old Shelby AC Cobras and Cheryl Tiegs when it comes to Eye Candy.   There was a set of 7 of them on ebay that went for over $150 a week or two ago.  I also can trade stuff.

Pmail will keep the forum replies to a minimum(and keep Papaw happy with us following Forum Policy Guidelines), and I should set a percentage of the sales to go in the "Free Will Offering" Paypal account that Papaw set up.  Normally I'm a "first come first serve" Kind of fellow, unless there are real special circumstances.  Don't want any hurt feelings or enemies forming within the walls of Tool Talk.  If there's something that arises that I can't work out, I'd just put it on ebay and let the high bidder determine the value of it.

Thanks for for posting your situation/needs, as I would think that "Handicapped Accessible" even in an inside concrete-floored tool auction would be pretty much an Oxymoron.  I've seen wheel chair occupants at some of the indoor tool auctions, and at least here in Iowa, the auctioneer has provided an assistant to help them with the bidding, especially when everyone crowds around the flatbed farm trailers with the better bargains.

Same here, almost everything you see me post is for sale if the price is right.
And I'm proud to be an American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.
