Stable Multitool?

hello, Does anyone recognize this tool? Multitool? Crating Tool? Fencing tool?  In raised lettering STABLE ,  MALLEABLE and what looks like PATENT PEND?? Thanks, Lou

And the flat area where it has Patent Pend!!!  I don't think these types of tools were used by neurosurgeons!!

I bet it is an old plow hammer--to knock the dirt off the plowshare and such.  a little like this one.

Or maybe it was intended for use in the stable.

Looks neat and something I've never seen before. How did you find this tool? Have you tried using it? How's the quality of the tool?

Found it at the local flea, and sold it quickly, never tried to use it!!
