Fordson Wescott and two more
« on: October 11, 2018, 08:48:34 PM »
We, I think that I did pretty good at the estate sale. From left to right... Keystone Mfg No. 80 - 10" "Fordson" ; Keystone Mfg. No. 80 - 10 " "Westcott" ; Bemis & Call xxx. CO. Springfield. Mass. "B&C" 8 in. ;  Coes Wrench Co. Worchester, Mass. USA, MFD. UNDER L. COES PATS.  STEEL.

All in pretty nice shape. really like the Coes"monkey", nice wood handle.

I guess that the "Fordson" maybe from a tractor tool kit, how about the "Westcott" that mean anything?

Keystone bought out Wescott, but most Keystone wrenches also say Wescott except very old wrenches which are from the original Wescott.

The history of the evolution from CORTLAND to WESTCOTT at Homer, NY & subsequent sale to KEYSTONE MFG. & move to Buffalo has been noted in short snippet items in the Missouri Valley Wrench Club Newsletter.  Have not quite nailed down when & how the transition from cast steel / malleable iron / to drop forged steel was accomplished.
