MVWC Meeting and Auction
« on: January 26, 2018, 05:31:13 AM »
I got a sneak peek at the early start to the up coming April 13 & 14 MVWC auction listing. Bus is hard at work putting the list together. Lots 33 & 34 are really interesting to me because they appear to be prototype wrenches that were made by the same maker of 4 wrenches in my collection. I got mine from eBay a few years ago from a seller in the New England States, I forget where  for sure but I think it was Massachusetts or New Hampshire.  I asked the seller where they came from and he said he had picked them up at an auction that they were from a machinist's estate.

Wow. Being both a machinist and a tool nut, I find these to be very interesting Les. Are there no markings on them at all then? Do they seem to represent certain old patents that you are aware of?

One is marked Patent pending but other than that no markings what so ever. Bus says these aren't marked either. Bus wondered if Hilary made them but I don't think he did based on what I was told from the seller of the ones I have.

Art and design meet function.  I envy anyone with those skills. You own a piece of art and personal history.
You might say I have a tool collecting problem....

Looking at yours in the upper photo, are the second and fourth wrenches identical?

Almost identical, just a few minor differences but they also look real close to the Lot in the Spring auction.
