Who knew ? I bought this handful of ratchets to get the Proto's. Like I don't have enough Proto rats. The Bahco looked too new for my taste but it turns out to probably be the most valuable of the lot. I thought Bahco was an old Swedish company that made adjustables. Turns out they are under the Snap-On umbrella and going strong.
The ratcheting box is a Proto and is interesting only in that its the largest racheting box wrench I've seen. Its 1 5/8.
If I got out more I'd probably know all this,but life between the corn field and the railroad tracks is pretty insular.
Bahco is on the bottom.

I too am a fan of Proto pear head ratchets and have been since the late 1960s. I also have Plomb and P&C pear head ratchets. I also have some Armstrong pear head ratchets that were possibly made by Proto for Armstrong or Armstrong made a knockoff of the Proto design. I also have have some Asian knockoffs. One of my Proto ratchets has a side cover that has the Proto name stamped on both sides, but in different sizes. I also have a rebuild kit made by Proto that has a side cover is drilled, but not tapped. I still need to get a Urrea (Protomex) ratchet and a double duty Proto/Vogel 3/8-1/2 inch model.Also Proto's 3/8-3/8 model. I have also seen a OTC ratchet that was probably made by Proto for OTC. I have heard of side covers that were stamped Proto on one side and stamped P&C on the other. I didn't start out to collect Proto ratchets, i just keep finding them at good prices. I have 9 new Proto ratchets stashed in a ammo box along with a bunch of rebuild kits. One could build a collection of just Plomb, Proto and P&C ratchets and probably never find all the different types.

 The Bahco is pretty neat. You reverse it by rotating the tapered section my thumb is on. Can be reversed with thumb and index finger while hand is still on ratchet. Also has a comfortable contour to handle which would make it ergonomic in function. Almost wish I had something to take apart.

Jim,

One of the ratchets in your cluster is a sleeper; it's the Williams roundhead.  Arguably one of the best ratchet designs ever built.  Do yourself a favor and start using the Williams ratchet.  Unless it broken or gummed up, I think you will be surprised how nice this ratchet is.  Very smooth, fine toothed, good balance, nice knurled handle, and a tad longer than most standard ratchets.  They are a joy to use.  In short, it's a keeper...

At any rate, that is a fine grouping of ratchets you picked up.  Congrat's!!!
