Craigslist Handsaw
« on: April 15, 2015, 06:21:39 AM »
This saw showed up on the local Craigslist
Asking price $200
No specs provided as to: Rip or Crosscut, overall Length, TPI, etc.
Hadn't seen this particular handle shape or remember
hearing of this maker and thought I would post pics
I am aware that the reason for nibs is unclear;
but since they show up on different makers saws it kinda seems
there must have been an intended design purpose at some point
as opposed to merely being one maker's embellishment/adornment

I've seen the handle style, just can't remember the maker.  As for the nibs, there is no demonstrated use for them, but a lot of ersatz explanations.  In the end, they appear to be the remnants of earlier and far more complex saw blade finials done "chust for purties."
