I was at a garage sale, and the pickings were slim. Looked rather like an estate sale and everything was in the yard. Did spy some rust on a patio table, and moved some odds and ends, spotted a monkey wrench. All steel, stamped, flat, about like the Ford and Willys wrench. Only it was 14 inches, not real rusty, adjuster moved, and had a nice finished look about it. Last night was wiping it down, looking for some identifying marks, and nothing on the handle. On the jaw was stamped "BRITOOL 1944". No sign of nickel or chrome, so obviously was (war finish). Most of it was finished nicely enough to chromed. Held it up to my Billings and Spencer, and they could be first cousins, or half brothers even, with eight out of ten things matching. Handle not bent, jaws close tight, so did I do ok for $5?
