My latest find, small clamp on vise
« on: March 25, 2015, 10:46:54 PM »
I saw some good stuff at the flea market, but only bought this. I wasn't going to even go but my addiction kicked in. I only spent four bucks on it so it didn't set me back to far.

I didn't see any markings on it. I know it looks like it's missing the little pad thing that would be on top of the screw.

And I'm proud to be an American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

I have several small clamp on vises and for some reason the washer part of the clamp is almost always missing. My favorite little is a Brink & Cotton. Besides clamping on, it has a place to use four wood screws to also mount it.

Yeah it is. And I don't know why the little pads like to go missing. Happens a lot on c-clamps too.
My friends call me Bob. My wife calls me a lot worse.

Weak joint that is abused by being overtightened I.E. weakest link of the clamp
Always looking for what interests me, anything early Dodge Brothers/Graham Brothers trucks ( pre 1932 or so ) and slant six / Super six parts.

You could drill that quarter out and it could be your new pad.

And that would up his investment to $4.25.
You might say I have a tool collecting problem....

Electrical box knockout - free on any commercial job site, when the electricians are going through (and on some residential job sites, if the electricians are as conservative as my son and I are, and still use metal boxes).
