Please help with missing part on jigsaw
« on: May 16, 2016, 05:16:34 PM »
Howdy, I purchased an old Montgomery Ward jigsaw that seems to be missing the part to force the shaft up and down.  I opened the side panel and it looks like there is a part that should clamp to the shaft for the offset disc to push on.  Any ideas???  Thank you. . .

You might wander over to Old Woodworking Machines (http://www.owwm.org/index.php) and post a want to buy on their buy/sell forum ("Bring Out Your Dead" - there's a little Monty Python air to the place).  But first, go to the "VintageMachinery.org" link, up in the top right corner of all their pages, track down the manual and parts list for your machine, and see if you can identify the missing parts and their part numbers; include that information in your ad, along with your pictures.

Also: read the rules, which are on sticky messages at the top of each forum.  They're very reasonable rules, but some of them are specific to that forum.

Both of those sites look really great; thanks for steering me in that direction.  I will start my research now. . .
