looking for bit, don't know if it's made
« on: July 23, 2011, 09:43:19 PM »
I have an 18v dewalt impact, I love it. Problem is I can't use my 1 3/8 step bit with it. I don't believe they make an 1 3/8" step bit with a 1/4" shank, because I've spent hours looking to no avail. I thought I found one, but turns out it is a 3/8" hex quick change. So I'm looking for a bit that goes from 1/4" hex quick change to 3/8" hex quick change. Or an 1 3/8" stp bit with 1/4" shank.
Any help would be great

It is possible someone here has what you want, but did you notice that this forum is primarily concerned with old tools? Not much about battery operated tools.

Not exactly an old tool, but...

Any electrical supply place will have them, electricians use them. Home depot has slightly larger size made by Greenlee, may have the smaller size also, with the electrical tools....
Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.

Sounds like using an impact is a poor way to use a step drill.

If all else fails use a bigger hammer…
