Todays wrench finds

You can never tell what a seller will value a wrench at.  I got these 4 today.  The 8-10" double ended crescent was only $6.  The P &C was $2...  You can just never tell.
Wrenches are (right to left):
  UNION SS bicycle type wrench
  Crescent 8"-10" double adjustable
  P & C DBE
  Indian Monkey wrench

Nice double adjustable!
A neat oddity, though, if I could get a 6" x 8" cheap, I'd snag it. :grin:

 Don't you know that's arson to threaten a person with great bodily harm if they don't sell you a wrench at a ridiculously low price. Speaking of the Crescent.

Me neither...  I have the same wrench with a broken screw that holds the adjuster on one that I paid $20 for.  I guess I can quit looking for the screw.  Well... It doesn't hurt to keep looking.

For the record, of the 4, I'm liking the P&C DBE the best.

Is the Indian wrench related to the Indian motorcycle tribe?

It sure is, and often sell at a premium price. recent sold auctions on Ebay show $39 to $93.

I need to check the Indian.  I keep bringing every one home that I find at a good price.  I fear I may have 3 or 4 of this same type.  I guess that is not really a bad problem to have...  This one is exceptionally clean (rationalization for my benefit).

Several years ago there were a lot of repop Indian monkey wrenches hit the street. Sadly I can't tell you how to tell.   Chuck Garrett

If we are going on the record with this, I really like those  double ended adjustables. I have paid way too much for some. P&C 2nd best.

Case in point - My latest (July 29, 2014, rec'd August 8, 2014) is a Bahco adjustable / alligator I won on eBay. After the auction the seller said the adjustable was locked up, he was sorry and would refund or adjust if I still wanted it. I took it anyway and told him I would work to free it and we could adjust the price later if needed. I cleaned the outside last week, now I have penetrating oil going in today. I wouldn't necessarily do that for just any tool that I paid higher money for. ($25.95 w/shipping) -remember, my favorite price is $1.00 for a tool.

Chilly, if that is a 6" - 8"  and you have a 6" cresent, take the screw and adjusting nut ouit and try it in the double.
that is if you win it.

I hate to say it, but burried in one of my (caves) is a box of new old stock parts, where ???
if I remember right, there were screws, nuts & sliding jaws.

did someone mention piles & piles of "gotta haves" ??? but what and where ???

a few days ago, I ran accross a couple cards of radio finger wrenches, I went to get them the other day to take a few pictures, and I cannot find them.

I am still trying to learn how to shrink pictures to put on here, my wife did the Ellis wrenches for me.

I am not a computor savvy person, still type with one finger.

why not one finger ? you can only hit one key at a time. I use two fingers but only one at a time.
