Dura Chrome wrench
« on: August 15, 2011, 04:00:48 PM »
So I picked up a dura chrom wrench with the numbers G1028S on the end of the wrench. Is this wrench from a car tool kit?

1028S is a 'special' ISN (that is, it's a non-standard standard size), that number (G1028s) is one of the ones the military folks are often looking for...

Should measure 5/8 x 25/32
Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.

Thanks! I may have to clean it up. It has some kind of black sealant applied to it.

Cosmoline! The military used lots of it to keep tools and parts for years. I used to buy military surplus parts for Harley 45s that were coated with cosmoline.

I have four more wrenches that have the coating. I will have to look them over to see if I can find any numbers. I will take some pictures on Saturday and post them up.
