Technology is generally linear. I've wrapped up more jobs than I can count where the immediate comment from people writing checks has generally been "we can probably improve that".
The problem comes when people fail to understand the need for a fence between them and the technology. Smart phones, tablets and laptops have become the current status symbol, I'm better than you device cause my device can this that or something else and I have a better plan. Jazuz H, get a life, it's a damn phone, and if I'm paying for your time leave the phone in the truck.
Worst part is so many people live and die by the damn contraptions. Saw a guy the other day had one mounted to the handlebars of his Harley with a wire running to his helmet. He could text as he rode.
WTF is next? Damned if I know, but I'll sure tell you it ain't long till people get shed from employment because their productivity is secondary to their phone use.
