Tool find
« on: April 01, 2014, 11:56:46 AM »
Last night I stopped to look at a wood lathe.   Nice lathe, old Craftsman, with ALL the accessories.  While looking around the guys shop it became apparent he was thinning things out just to have room to work.   Found a box of hand saws, all very old Disstons, made a low ball bid on the box and he accepted.   Noticed an old green Craftsman box on the floor by his working tool box, and mentioned it.  He sort of wanted to show it off,  opened it up to reveal a set of Craftsman underlined wrenches, barely used, open and box end.  It had been his dads but he really didn't have need or have  room for them.  Then he showed me another old metal box that his father had used long ago.   Hacksaws, files, scrapers, and 5 different sizes of PH handled monkey wrenches.  I really didn't need these last two things, as I am short of space myself.  But I offered a low ball figure, and he only hemmed and hawed for a few seconds and said Deal!   Well, about now I should mention: Happy APril Fools day.  However, there was a Craftsman lathe with accessories, and tools.   And I did get it for less than $100.  Have a good one.

Perhaps the worst April fools joke I heard today!
And I'm proud to be an American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.
