My shadowbox
« on: March 05, 2014, 10:20:23 PM »
I had posted part of this on the old forum. I've updated the shadowbox some since then and figured I'd post again. I copied and pasted what I had on our little group on facebook....

Time, money, space and know how restrict me from displaying most of my collection. The one wrench that I do display is the one I searched for for 9 long years and finally was able to acquire. It's my Binghamton wagon wrench. Since the time I got the first one, I have been able to acquire another, and a bit of paperwork on the company. The last thing was a large size 1898 catalog. I also went to the Broome county library (county where I live and Binghamton is located) and talked with Gerald Smith a few years ago. They had some info and a few very tattered catalogs and brochures, he let me copy a few. I then made copies of all the paperwork and put them in the shadowbox in the picture. This shadowbox is the only dislpay I currently have and hangs proudly right in our living room, as much as the wife doesn't really care for wrenches as wall art. I still need to put 2 dowels in to have the second wrench hang there, but I took a picture of it sitting on the floor.

Beautiful display. A work of art. The paperwork and original literature make all the difference.

Thanks all. I wish I had room to do a similar thing for every company I have a wrench for.
