My antiques and collectables, now in a completed box!
« on: August 06, 2011, 09:02:50 PM »
I wanted a depression era style home made box for the collection.   Today I finally finished with the hinges on the lid.   While I was repacking it I took a few pics for the crew at GG, and why not here too.

I grew up seeing this style of box in my grandfathers' garages and now I make them for my friends.

Any questions feel free to ask, I'll even get better pics if you have to see a particular item better.
The only bad tool is the one that couldn't finish the job.  Ironicly it may be the best tool for the next job.

Papaw, this one stays home and holds my treasures.  I have two toolbags full of modern mixed everybrand to work from.  One of my coworkers does work from a prototype of this one, I made a few mistakes on it and gave it away.

This has a mix of US, Mex and a very few european classics and collectables.  Mostly DOE but a few DBE, combo  and a selection of antique pliers and whatnot to round it out to a working set.  Finding wood handled screwdrivers here has proven a challenge.  I do use these on home projects.
I plan on doing a full pictoral inventory for the forums but need to take the time.
