PS&W Framing Sq.
« on: January 31, 2014, 06:30:03 PM »
I saw one of these in a thrift store today and have never seen one before. Its twice as thick as a regular square and is verrrry worn and can barely read the name. Not sure if there are big collectors for them here or not but can pick up if anyone's interested. It has $6 on it.

Is it twice as thick all over or just twice as thick at the corner?
 Is it 16 X 24" or 18 X 24"?

i collect 24x18 squares, it probably started off as a 24x18, most were cut down to 16 when platform framing became the standard. its easy to tell, look for a orphan 1 and a orphan 6 (otherside) at the end of that leg.  i believe older balloon framing was 18" centers, hence the 18" leg.

I was "forced" to give up my tapered leg, 18 X 25 square last year.
Or rather begged/bribed/cajoled and pitiously weaseled into it.
If he'd had deserved it just ----that--- much less......

  Anyway, I need a replacement
Not looking for a whole collection.  I only have a few squares and only have room for a few.
(little house)
Prime but singular (1 each) examples of materials and tables struck is what I need.

Kicking myself for not doing that now.

I was wrong telling you it was thick all over. It is thick at the corner and tapers down as it goes. Its actually pretty thin at the ends and is 16". I'm still having trouble uploading pics but did manage to get the logo.
