I want to thank you all again for all the help sent my way on what turned out to be a cheese cutter.
Now, I must drag out of the barn my next what is it. This was passed down to me from a contractor who lived well into the his late eighties. He was a general contractor, had a wide knowledge of just about all aspects of commercial and residential building.
I believe this is some sort of clamp of use I know not. The length is 57", each piece of wood is 3-1/4"x1-1/4". The holes in the one piece are 1-1/16"diameter, go all the way threw, spaced 7-5/8" apart. The holes in matching piece are wide enough for the 1/2" bolts to go threw and clamp down. The iron rectangle plates are 3"x1-7/8" with a 1-1/4" curved notch going into them. The wood appears to be a fairly hard wood. I have a number of plans for what I could turn this into, however would like to know what it is prior to repurposing.
Any ideas???
