Title: bicycle tire spoons
Post by: m_fumich on April 26, 2013, 11:40:59 PM
I'm looking for bicycle tire spoons. I don't know who all made them but any vintage brand would be nice. I'd like something that could be dated to the 50's or earlier. Also looking for other bike specific tools. PM me and I'll get the notification.

I've got a small handful of tire irons in my bike box. Most are newer shiney steel but I think I have one older one (Dunlop??) in there. I think I can afford to get rid of a few and still have some left for "real" work.

How about a pic or two, so we can determine which are bike spoons and not small auto spoons.

Thanks

That shouldn't be hard. Bike spoons are about 4" long. Auto spoons would be closer to 3'. Here's a bike spoon.

I only have one that might fit the parameters you're looking for.
Don't know if it's prior to the 50's, but, says "Dunlop" on one side and "Made in England" on the other. Just say the word, Matt.
