Title: Tecumseh 2 stroke home well drilling rig.
Post by: EVILDR235 on July 27, 2020, 03:00:04 PM
This is a well drilling rig for the homeowner. The engine is a 1974 Tecumseh 2 stroke. It has a cast iron frame bolted to the engine with a tube on each side to guide it up and down and a small pulley on the top to raise and lower it to add or remove sections of drill rod. It has a gear box under the engine which I believe is to slow down the output speed and increase torque and a  large brass fitting to attach a garden hose to pump water down the hole to flush out dirt and cool the drill bit. I got this years ago and my late friend Okie Custer got the drill rods. I use to see ads in the back of Popular Mechanics magazines for these years ago. I believe you can still buy them.
