Title: 6" curved handle pipe wrench
Post by: lptools on May 05, 2019, 08:54:03 AM
Hello, I picked this up in a trade this morning. I just want to verify the logo. Is this an Oswego Tool wrench?  Never seen one before, at least this size with the pipe jaw. In raised figures 6 IN. pipe  , and a T within a circle. Thanks, Lou

The mark is Oswego, but I haven't seen that model before. They were also The Sawyer Tool Co.

I'm no help, other than to say that is a beautiful little wrench.

That model "S" handle could be supplied with either nut gripping or pipe gripping movable jaw.  When the teeth were sharp, they would grip pipe about as well as an alligator wrench.  With a little pipe dope get your joints water tight -- maybe not enough grip to unscrew old work with the joints "frozen."
Six inchers are always nice to find -- not nearly so common as the larger sizes.

Yes, we decided some time ago that T in a circle was Oswego Tool. Co.  Here are the offset adjustable wrenches I have accumulated.  Sizes 6, 8, 10 and 12 inches in smooth jaw and 10 and 12 inches in pipe jaw.  Note that if you adjust the jaw all the way down it can be removed the the barrel adjuster will come out.

Man those are sexy wrenches. So what are the big differences between those and the Barcalo ones you posted in the other thread?

Same type wrenches by different manufacturers.  The designs are somewhat different.
