I'm still in construction and I've always been interested in tools, the older and odder the better. Love estate sales and I took up metal detecting last year and have been muddling through, trying to become one with my AT Pro detector. Unfortunately it learns much faster than I. Being on the east coast of Florida where 11 Spanish ships sank in 1715 I figured "How could I go wrong?" Buy a detector & find a chest of gold doubloons. Well I think I've been lied to because I'm convinced, based on what I've found on the beaches, those ships only carried pull tabs!
I'm not really a collector of tools (except my Dad's in my younger years :embarrassed:) but I came across one yesterday while metal detecting that has driven me to drop in to this interesting forum for information about a 6" JP Danielson (Stillson pattern) I found in the ground at a shed yesterday. (I'll post about that in a different thread.)
Thanks for having me.

Hi Cliff, welcome from the west coast of Florida. Good bunch of guys and gals on here. Be aware that you will probably have to resize your pictures before you’ll be able to post them.

Thanks for the warm welcome Mikeswrenches and Papdan.
And thanks for the heads up on image size. Managed to get some posted because some of the sites I visit require a max of 800 square. Hope that is good here. I had to try multiple times though, down to 6 images, to meet the max file size also.
I'm not retired but am self employed so I can take an hour from time to time with nobody to complain but my inner self. (:
