Hello, Skip. I agree , there was plenty of old adhesive on the blade that I had to remove. Thanks, Lou

Hello, wvtools. Thanks for the info, that name rings a bell. Dexter/Russell Harrington for sure, same as the mill knife blades that I had sold a while ago.. Thanks again,, Lou

I found my EAIA book.  I was not quite right.  D. Harrington Cutlery Co., Southbridge, MA.  The D stands for Dexter, which was a brand name as most of you already know.
