Title: Brass and bronze plane unbranded

A recent car boot sale (for u.s. readers read flea market), purchase can anyone ID this smoothing plane with a brass sole and I think bronze frog and cap.

Hello Rustyric. You may have a Calvert Stevens Smoothing Plane. The tote looks right, but the tall front knob may not be original. Photo from Tony Murland's Antique Tool Value Guide. Cheers, Lou

Yes the rear handle is aluminium

It may not be original or ergonomic, but I like the front knob.  Gives it character.

Handle doesn't look original, but I'm usually wrong
