Title: i dont have one but i saw one

old farm wrench,that was never finished?,the metal was still in place where the nut/bolt would fit.
are these rare?

Cast iron machinery wrench?   Looked like it was up to the owner to make fit, the bolts it was intended for.   Some of them looked rather crude.

Begs the question, was "Cast Iron" really a man's way of home-made, and crude, wrench production?

I think it was the machinery manufacturers way of providing a tool to a man that might, just maybe, own a monkey wrench.   Around the old farms here, have seen way more of these with jaws snapped off, than ones that were complete.    Plus, they may have been inexpensive.
