Took a trip to Chicago to pick p a couple of really expensive German folding kayaks to sell and stopped at one yard sale in Galena and what a stash he had. A lot of woodworking stuff, but i picked through his hand tools and spent like $15 for a plethora of goodies. Then my wife called and asked about a few items she had found iin the Quad Cities. The Iowa Estate sale had the gray Wilton wood vise for $7, and a big coffee can 1/3 full of some Taiwan, but several Bonney and Snap On crow's foot/line wrenches that fit on a ratchet for $6. Also a set of Snap On swivels for $7.50 and a set of 6 Snap On Combos for $15. The SK tray of 3/8" drive metrics were also $7.50. Not pictured is the bag of 115 Craftsman/Bonney/misc. sockets the local Pawn Shop sold me for 15 cents each.
The last photo is some items a friend of mine scrounged up at a yard sale a couple weeks ago and a tool auction in Waverly yesterday. Really trying to pry the Cornwell JR-30 and the sockets from his hands, but he may decide to keep them. As Steven Wright would say, "You can't have everything........where would you put it ?" The photo of the Snap On 1/4" drive set was $3 at an estate sale. It's on ebay right now. The rat is from 1947 and about a 9.5 on a scale of 10. The box is pretty cherry too.
Sorry I haven't been around more lately, but life has gotten in the way of tooll talking it seems. I will come up with some goodies for the group.
BTW, did the "pay it forward" thread replace the weekly giveaway?? I'm really overdue for some donations...and have some real keepers to throw out there.

The Illinois stuff....total of about $30 spent between me and my wife.
Highlights: One of the Speeders w/o its top is a really old Snap-On K-4. Proto Phillips Screwdriver, Starrett inside/outside calipers, Peck Stowe and Wilson compass w/ brazed on tips. MAC And Snap On Distributor wrenches, and an English Stanley 151 spoke shaver.
Middle row:Vintage Blackhawk 1/2" extension with the sleeve on it like the Torpedo box tools had from RAGBRAI. Nice SK 3/8" ratchet, Dimalloy 6" adj. Snap-on DBE ratchet wrench, a strange Flying V 1/4" rat that simply says "Japan" on it, but no Craftsman. Williams #3 Phillips, a long New Britain extension, and a smattering of wrenches: Snap on DBE, some Craftsman oldies, and a mix of Armstrong, Truecraft and Indestro.
The bottom has orphan sockets from Plomb, Husky, SK , Craftsman and a few US Companions. The rat is a 3/8" Williams Super ratchet and the tool box has no name, as do the sockets, but the slide bar is a Husky, and the extensions are from Truth and Herbrand.
The Snap On box has the nearly immaculate Midget GM-70-M (and the TM5 slide handle, which I forgot to put in the photo). and the 6" extension some goober ground down the male end to a small square drive. The packing nut socket was a plus though.

This table was mostly the Iowa estate sales(although I left a bunch of it out due to "not that rare/unusual " syndrome...lol)
Bottom left going up:Modern day Snap On- combos and a DBE, SK metric sockets in 3/8" drive A really cool Vaco screwdriver handle with a stubby male 3/8" drive on it, Craftman/Wizard/Allen Ratchets
Middle left going up:DBE's: P&C/SK
Extensions:P&CHusky/Wizard/SK
Challenger DOE
Sockets from Snap On, Fleet, Indestro, and SK. All the swivels are Snap-Ons
Right side going Up: Gray WiltonW-9-63 wood vise(my other one is red) and it has a 12" Proto Adj. and a Proto DOE. The DBE's are MAC and SK.
The socket stash is P&C/ Craftsman/STW/Husky/Giller/Proto/Wizard/Binsco(?)
An American made 10WR
A group of ratchet claws from Bonney, Proto, but mostly Snap-on
The stuff from my tool buddy is in the last photo.

The last photo is kinda sparse by comparison, since I left the bulk of the SK stuff in the box.
The DBE at the top is a Riverside
The tin snips are Bergmans
Two sets of Indestro Auto kit wrenches
Proto 706-S Los Angles adj.
Mossberg Sterling #1 in great shape
"Triple A Specialty Co". DBE, but has a Bonney shield on the other side
SK 3/8' swivels
Whitworth 5/32 W-AT-8004 combo possibly used on the Rolls Royce airplane engines in WWII, possibly either a Blue Point or a Snap-On without the bling.
Bottom wrench s a "Precision Bilt" DBE with no country ID. The letters are faint, but have sort of a Greek font to them.
Started another box for Oily out of all this stuff.

Moose, I am in awe of what you manage to score! More importantly, I am amazed that you can keep track of it all. Your Flea market inventory system must work pretty well.
