They are Steeldraulic Brake Pliers.

Yeah, I did that. Your right. Now I got to buy one them cars to see if the pliers work.

These aren't real common, although not really rare.  They were made by several different manufacturers.  Cornwell, Bonney, and Vacu-grip for sure made them as I have those.  While all basically the same, there are some subtle differences between them.

If you are not aware of the Alloy Artifacts site, it is worth a visit.  Lots of good info there.
