Title: Kraeuter ratchet I found today
Post by: Wrenchmensch on August 23, 2013, 04:00:14 PM
I'm not a ratchet specialist like some of your guys, but I had never seen a Kraeuter ratchet before today. So here it is, all 7 1/2 inches of a nicely finished 3/8" ratchet.  Ken Cope says that Kraeuter closed in 1934 during the Great Depression.  Was the  brand sold?  This ratchet looks too new to be that old.

Kraeuter was acquired by S-K who marketed the brand as their secondary line. Your ratchet was made by S-K...

And I'd bet willing to bet an S-K repair kit would slip right into that sweetheart!

Nice rat!

I scored a complete Kraeutter 1/2" Drive set with tool box a few weeks ago.  List price for the whole set according to the placard inside the box lid was $41.25.  Even f it was the 70's, that was a lot of money for a socket/ratchet set back then.
