Seems a tad pricey but Ime not well versed in blacksmith equitment so I could be wrong. I have no affiliation.

That is a tad pricey, in my opinion.
If it was completely rebuilt, with a nice new motor and kill switch, I'd still have to haggle on it. Most can be found much cheaper.

Is it me? or does the thing have a honking big crack in the pedestal part ?
(What the heck do you call the thing that holds the thing the hammer strikes?)

It's called the "Sow Block"
That thing is a whole lot larger than my little giant. Maybe a little over priced, but not by too far I don't think? Power hammers are a little difficult to find around here though.

Left , around the front.

OK, was thinking that was just the square piece itself...

Never see them around here, even at machine auctions, dunno why, I know several indistries that used them ....

The part I drew an arrow to? Definitely some missing there. I'm guessing from someone trying to get the key out (3) or one that wasn't put in right.
In the picture, 1 would be the "bottom die", 2 would be the "sow block".
