Title: Tire iron ID ?
Post by: Lostmind on July 15, 2013, 08:16:13 PM
I was wondering if any one recognizes this as being from a particular make car or truck ?
It is 17" long , 7/8 or 13/16" opening. It's a little worn.
This also came with some Jeep pieces from the 40's.
Thanks for any help
Roy

You have a demountable rim socket wrench, jack handle and tire tool. It is listed in 1924-1927 Chevy Superior parts books. It was patented Dec. 7, 1926 (patent #1,609,732) by Frank McLaughlin and others, Patent was assigned to General Motors. Patent
info is on DATAMP at http://www.datamp.org/patents/displayPatent.php?number=1609732&typeCode=0 (http://www.datamp.org/patents/displayPatent.php?number=1609732&typeCode=0)

Thanks Bus ! I don't know how you found it , lots of experience I guess.
I didn't expect it to be that old.
The knowledge on here is amazing.
