Title: Any Electricians out there??

Found this little gem in a yard sale in Dubuque before the wedding Saturday.  It definitely says FARGO on the yellow handle  It definitely says  CP=2090  P for a part number.  It definitely has a Snap-on 5 sided socket(B-2190) permanently installed with a roll pin on the one end and a ratchetwith a permantly installed 3/8" hex drive(complete with external snap rings to make sure it stays in place) on the other end.  The five-sided socket makes me think this is some sort of security socket tool, but there must not be much torque needed to install/remove the 5 sided nuts/bolts if wrist power is all you can apply.  The ratchet end apparently you rotate the shaft 180 to change directions.

I am really curious what this tool was designed for and if anyone has a clue as to how old it is.

A search for the penta socket claims they are for security bolts on electrical cabinets.

Does the socket have a date code?

Couldn't find one LG, the plating on the Snap On is not real fancy.  Pat # is 3273430.  Maybe the date code was where they drilled for the roll pin.....lol.  BTW, this is one tool I'll likely NEVER use.  Must've been an expensive tool at some point for it to have a Snappy socket as part of the package.  Couldn't find a manufacturer on the ratchet handle(metal part). Other than the external snap rings having a bit of bend to them on the male hex piece, this thing's in pretty good shape.

Fargo manufactures telephone hardware, their most popular product is the lashing wire clamps that secure the lashing on both sides of the pole.

That's probably a cabinet wrench for cases on repeater cabinets or some similar device hanging at ground level.  Oddly padlocks and cabinet locks don't function well in the roadside environment.

These are used by the Electric Power Companies to open Electrical Transformers .

I'm looking for one, Great tool.

it is a tool use by power company mechanics,the 5 point socket is used to open transformer door latches and the rachet side usully has allen keys on them
