Title: Back to tshirts
Post by: Papaw on July 15, 2011, 07:33:47 PM
I have found a good local guy to make tshirts and am ready to go forward with it. I propose to have a quantity made to order, and have decided to have only one color at this time. The shirts will be good quality Gildan shirts with a pocket. The crossed wrench logo will be on the pocket with the rest of the logo above the pocket. I don't want to go further on styles and such yet, since there are too many variables to consider.
Now the question is- how many members will buy a shirt?
The printer has assured me that they can be printed at a price that will allow them to be under $20 each shipped. More than one of course would mean shipping could be less per shirt.
I don't intend to make money on these.

Oh yeah.  I want one!  Size large.

I,d like one in the extra large size

I would like one. Unfortunately due to shrinkage, I NEED a 4X TALL, and most print places don’t/wont have a 4X TALL. One wash on a regular 4x T shirt and I am showing more belly than a teenage girl, without the pleasurable view.
A 3X TALL carhartt T will fit but that is an ultra premium preshrunk fabric.

How tall were you before you shrank?

Hello. I will take two in xxl tall, my location may require a little more cost to ship but I can ship to my sons place in Portland Oregon.Let me know how and when to pay. Thanks Jim

What's the largest you can get? A 3X or 4X would be prefered due to shrinkage. I'll take one.

When do you need the final numbers. If I can afford it, I'll get 2.

Waiting for the printer to approve the artwork. I will let everyone know as soon as I can, and pretty sure the BIG sizes will be available, they will be Gildan shirts, and they do offer all sizes.

Next week I will compile a list of those interested and post it in this thread. The printer has asked a few questions and I think will be ready to start in less than two weeks. The price now looks like we can keep the cost to members at $20 per shirt shipped. In truth, that price will leave me a dollar or two on each that I can use to improve the selection later, or put toward forum expenses.

What color is the shirt ?

Post by: Papaw on July 21, 2011, 06:30:39 AM
The initial run will be your choice- any color you like as long as it is tan/brown like the logo at the top of the forum. At this time, I am not ready to offer a lot of choices.

Like Henry Ford did.

Tan/Brown is good.
My wife doesn't allow me to wear White shirts.

I'd like to have the logo embroidered on a call cap. I'm not much of a hat wearer but I'd line that.

Just tell me here in this thread or PM me. Need to know size and payment. I ordered more than have been requested, so I may have extras in several sizes when they come in.

Do you have Com Checks and will you take one? If you don't know what a Com Check is, you don't have them.
Title: Re: Back to tshirts
Post by: Papaw on August 18, 2011, 09:28:14 AM
I am familiar with Comchecks, used them when I was a driver, but I don't have anyway to use them now. Time is of no import, payment can come in any form, and whenever easiest for you. I am going to see the shirt guy today or tomorrow.
Title: Re: Back to tshirts
Post by: m_fumich on August 18, 2011, 10:43:55 AM
If you had a ComCheck, I could register it with the necessary amount from my ComData account. Any bank will take them. But, If you don't have one, I'll send a postal money order.

I now have a sample shirt in hand (sample has no pocket, but all others will have a pocket with the print over the pocket), and the printer says this afternoon they will be ready! I work tonight, so will pick them up tomorrow. Mailing will begin Friday or Saturday.

I did order a few extra, and more can be made in short order. I will stay with the original offer to you guys at $20 shipped for this batch and any new orders in the next couple of weeks, but I think the price may have to go up about $5 in the future.
I have discussed ball caps with the crossed wrenches and Papawswrench embroidered, so that will be the next stage.

I need PM or email from these members, with mailing address and payment if not paid yet. My record keeping is terrible. I got payments by mail and Paypal that I don't have mailing addresses for. If you have paid, say so, but I still need addresses.
I have marked those that I am shipping Saturday.

Received shirt today. Well pleased, plenty big but I can grow into it if necessary. Naw all I need to decide is Do I wear it to auctions ie will it scare off bidders or will they say If that wrench guys bidding it must be something good. Not really a problem as most local auction goers know I bid on most things rusty. Thanks Papaw

Ahh,well, when you are wearing a plain white T shirt, you are bidding on amatuer rust, when you are wearing an official Tool Talk T shirt, you must be bidding on professional rust - P

Anyhow, Papaw, got mine today, fits like a glove, the tiny thing included is kewl also : )
PS: The green stuff is in the mail.....(Sorry, it's been on the 'Things I need to do real soon' list for way too long)

Updating this thread-
Ray ordered a Large

I will have caps in 10 days or so, price to be determined, but I think they will be about the same as the shirts, since the logo will be embroidered on, not printed. The logo will be the crossed wrenches and either Papawswrench or Tool Talk Forum, depends on which fits best.

When I finally get to Houston to get mine, I'll get one for each of my boys if they'll wear them. I gotta find out what size they wear. I have no clue.
