Thanks guys for all the good wishes and prayers. I have been having pain in my arms and chest when I started to do anything physical lately. I had a previously scheduled doctor's appointment Monday. When I mentioned this to my doctor he immediately sent me to Wichita for a heart cath and they found some blockage in two arteries. They admitted me to Wesley Hospital and I am scheduled for a bypass operation Monday morning at 7:00 AM. Will post next week when I am able.
PS: it's was a little weird opening this post and realizing that it's about youself! Thanks again I really do appreciate your concerns and prayers.

Here's to a speedy recovery with no complications, Bus.
My Father just had 4 stints put in just a little over a week ago, and my Father In Law had 2 put in last week, with another heart cath scheduled for Monday at 7AM also.
Like papaw said, modern medicine is wonderful.
Best wishes, and keep us updated.....You are one of the family here at the forum, ya know, right???

Good luck and speedy recovery.
It so happens that in my work I have taken care of a great many folks after bypass surgery. You will be pestered by all those taking care of you to 'do this', 'do that' and it will seem like they are after you constantly when all you want to do is rest. You may wish you could take a long nap and be all better when you wake up. Truth is though, how well you recover depends entirely on how hard you work at it and it's best to know that going in. The secret to speedy recovery is to get moving and do as much activity as you're allowed to do. Much of what they will have you do will be to keep your breathing in shape as you recover. They will give you a device that is used to measure your deep breathing efforts. Use it often and mind your technique. Fresh air is free and it's damn good medicine.
Surgery is never 'routine' when you are the one having it, but I can tell you that the techniques are tried and true and your surgeon will be well practiced in getting the job done. You'll be home before you know it.
I don't mean to sound like I'm offering 'medical advice', and I'm sure your team has prepared you very well, but this is my area of expertise for the past 25 years. If there is a question I might answer that will help you prepare, or if you have a question during your recovery, feel free to pm me or post it here. Like most things, preparation and knowledge are good things to have.

I have been home after the triple bypass almost two weeks now and feel a little better each day. The operation went well but there were a couple complications. I had some kidney shock and now have to watch my diet and test my blood sugar once a day, I also have some nerve damage to my right hand. Doc says it should be alright but might take a month or two. Meanwhile I ham typing using by left hand as normal but using only one finger on by right hand.

Glad to hear that you are on the mend...

Glad to hear of your progress!

Bus, Glad to hear that things are coming around I hope you get to the meeting next month. I hope to be there also.

Glad to hear you are feeling well enough to get back at it, and are improving. I'm not surprised to hear that your kidneys got a little pissed off about the whole thing. They weren't the only ones to have had a bad day, they are just very sensitive.
