Title: Old Weights? What the Heck?!?
Post by: JessEm on April 24, 2013, 10:02:03 AM
Anyone recognize these old dogs? Best I can figure they're for some kinda scale... They came from an old plumber's estate but that ain't sayin' much 'cause he was quite the collector...

The first weight (M&J) looks like similar weights can be added to the peg on the bottom...

The second weight almost looks like a tractor front weight, but it seems a little small for that...

The scale guy used to use the ones with loop handles to calibrate our scales at work. Not sure about the others.

The flat weight is used for counter weights on overhang rigging...

Thanks for the info. I guess they're just gonna get piled on top my wood stove in the shop, along with some other interesting hunks of iron I've acquired. They give off pretty good heat in the winter once they warm up.
