Title: Early Autocar automobile pliers

6.75 - inch Autocar slip-joint pliers with early Utica knurling (inverted V combined with opposite straight edge) on the handles; 3-diamond Utica stamp on backside.  One handle has been formed into a small screwdriver. Some plating remains on this tool.

It's likely these pliers came from an early Autocar automobile made in nearby (to here) Ardmore, PA.  Informed opinions welcomed!

I do like tools with company logos.  The AUTOCAR name got me to do some searching.   It seems they turned out their last automobile in 1912.   The logo at that time was a rambling script.   The block spelling in a  shield came sometime later, but could not locate it.  I recall seeing that same block letter logo on the front of some 1940s and 1950s trucks in my neighborhood back when.  The AUTOCAR truck company has been sold and resold like so much other industry.

Yep!  I remember trucks from the 1930's with that logo on them, as well.
