Title: value of older Craftsman 150 drill press?
Post by: wjhpc on February 14, 2013, 02:08:50 PM
I came across a vintage Craftsman 150 DP at a garage sale. Works fine, no wobble or funny noises/vibrations, quite clean and functional except for surface rust on shiny parts. Could use as is, or great base to restore to as new. The lady had not priced it and is going to research it before she quotes me - what would you say is a reasonable price range?

Thanks,

Jim

Got a picture?
I don't just keep the part numbers of everything ever made, all through history,
loose in my head ya know, heh.

Lord I am lucky to remember where I put my shoes!

If you put that on your bench top you'll need a ladder to use it.

The Craftsman 150 is a classic homeowner DP and easily worth $75 - 100.

With the original motor, intermediate pulley, table not too dinged up, I'd go $125-150.

FWIW, I just bought a later gold paint model with light surface rust for $75 at a salvage yard.  As Long John Silver said in Treasure Island, "What fool cut up a bible?"  What fool would scrap a working DP worth $75??
