Post by: dimwittedmoose51 on February 11, 2013, 04:07:54 AM
Picked this up Wednesday night.  Was hoping someone could lrecognize the  logo by the way it looks, as the letters are a littl;e hard to read.  Wrench is about 16" long.

CRI&SP ____?  Maybe Cedar Rapids Implement & ???????  The wrench came fro mthat part of Iowa anyway....

TIA

I've heard of the Illinois Central and the Chicago Central, but that's a new one on me.  Time to research....  Thanks

Part of the Rock Island right-of-way in Lincoln, NE is a well used "rail-to-trail" bike route, and the old passenger depot is a bank branch office & a gem of 19th Century architecture.  (http://www.rits.org/www/structures/depots/Zabel/Overview1.jpeg ) & ( http://www.rits.org/www/structures/depots/Zabel/Overview2.jpeg )
Read ( http://www.american-rails.com/chicago-rock-island-and-pacific.html ) for a good succinct history of the business.
