Title: American cars

This explains why we have so many old tools.  Remember, the automobile was invented so that we had a practical use for all these tools.

Whoa, 1800 makers in only thirty some years. That sure must have been a crazy time.

I think there were near a hundred or more motorcycle makers also.

My 1920 Motor Wheel book lists over 800 auto makers.  Of course some where only stock companies on paper, and some were assemblers.  What is amazing the number of body types offered  at that time period.   Ford condensed it down pretty quick, and look who is still building cars.
