Ford tool kit adjustable. Came in 9" and 11" usually. The square tip on the handle was for the transmission and/or differential drain/filler plug.

Try to imagine how many Ford Model A and T cars and trucks were produced, then add in some thousands of Ford tractors, and you will see that there were many thousands of those produced. There are example almost identical still being made and sold, though not with Ford on them.

Ford Model A adjustable wrench.  Part number A-17021.   In November 1931 Ford USA was added to this wrench, before this they may or may not have has the Ford script on them.  I am not sure exactly how long this wrench (with the square lug on the end) was in production, but I believe in was into the 1940's.

Someware along the way the wrench was produced without the square lug (this was the version that came with the N series tractors).

it's still being sold-  is that because the patent was bought by another mfg? or still by ford?

- and the shape of the lug will help me pin down the date?

thanks so much!

I have one without the drain plug wrench, marked Ford, made by Barcalo. As LBG said, though, the majority were probably made by Moore Drop Forge.

Your Barcalo Ford wrench would be for a Model T.

My recollection is that a wrench set came with every Model T and Model A.  There were 15 million model T's made and 4.8 million model A's.  And in addition you had the tractors, as was mentioned above.

In addition every dealership and many of their mechanics purchased them.  There are a few rare Ford wrenches but unfortunately yours isn't one of them.
