Local auction is selling a Moon Bros wrench next week. Mentioned it to spouse with statement that I intended to compete for it. Alls good; then I mentioned that I already had one of these wrenchs and spouse offered opinion that I probably didn't need another.
Whos right? Is two a surplus or just a reserve ?
-
How is the condition of the one you have relative to the one you'd like to purchase, and do either of them have any known history?
-
You need at least two, in case one gets damaged. That's the principle I use with planes (that's woodworking, not aviation - not room on my property to get involved with aviation)...well, mostly, except when I find an example that's especially interesting even though it triplicates or fourplicates what I already have.
Although we should recognize that "need" is a relative concept. If your roof's leaking, you may not "need" another wrench.
-
Only one? Chinese think it's bad luck to not have two.

Ask her how many shoes she has
-
The old saying need, whats need got to do with it bob w.

A man has two hands, he needs two wrenches! If we limited our collection to just one of each, and we sold it, we wouldn't have any! This way you can have a nice feeling by passing one of them along, and still have one on the wall.
-
Maybe you can get a few good points by telling her that "Hey You are prolly right" she'll prolly give ya a hug. LOL DON't mind me had a couple of New Years brews. No more than two oh well I need to work on that.
-
The second one is actually'leverage" for something you REALLY want....lol
HNY all
DM&FS, after taking a long winter's nap....

1 for the Nut & 1 for the Bolt!! many times I need 2 of each size...
-
I changed my mind two is one to many i have some wishes and I know someone has two of them lol bob w.

Mentioned it to spouse with
And who cares what comes next!
Are you kidding me?
You have been married 15 minutes and don't know the ropes at all?
You are some compulsive confessor sticking your neck into every noose offered??
Up off your knees!
For gods sake, sock, man, sock!! Stuff a sock into that thing!!!
Leaving it in the car for a week under the seat or in the truck she doesn't drive,
and then casually going out to rake or shovel snow or whatever, and transfer the loot while Knots Landing or Oprah or whatever gets attention in your house from the feminine side, is on TV?
Never, ever, ever, line all your tools up, like a fool! Never make them look too good from a distance with fancy cases and lights, except the most familiar and old stock you are totally in the clear on.
As my friend Milt the Druggist always said................
"You put your diamonds in the dirt, Son. People leave them alone."
sheesh, these kids today...............
hehehehheehehehehehhehhehe
If she's got --all-- her purses and shoes lined up? You have to question her intelligence at least a little.
But I'm giving odds she doesn't REALLY.
yours Scott

Local auction sold the Moon Bros wrench today. Came in second. Sold for $70. I woudn't pay a nickel over $69.50. Auctioneer called it a hydrant wrench but at least 4 people knew better. Cest le Vie or some such sour grapes comment.

two is too many and 100 isn't enough.
