Title: Locamotive Wrench?
Post by: phillie on July 01, 2011, 05:59:31 PM
I found this this morning at a sale. I have his much bigger brother in my shop (he measures 22" long). This one measures 13" long and is marked Bemis and Call Co. Springfield Mass on one side of the head and pat. Dec ???? 187? on the other. I have been told that these were used to work on locamotives. Can anyone verify or dispute this? Possible value. These are the before shots...he cleaned up fairly well. Thanks again.

Not necessarily for railroad, these were called buggy wrenches, or combination wrenches. They are fairly common.
