Title: Curved Wheaton wrench goes to what piece of equipment?

We made it a point to stop off at a new Farmers Market today.  I found this uncommon Wheaton wrench with a curved handle, bent up at the end. It's 9 inches long, and is embossed 8 C W followed by a rhombus on the reverse side of the handle. I have found several of the straight Wheaton wrenches over the years, but this is the first one of these I have seen.  What's it for, does anybody know?

P.S.  I've emailed 100-year old EMCO Wheaton and asked them what this wrench was used for.  I'll share here whatever answer, if any, they give me.

The more I look at it, reminds me of a tool to run the shakers back and forth on a coal furnace.  One had to do that daily to push the clinkers down out of the firebox.    I don't find much on Wheaton Industries except for a glass company.

Looks a bit like an oil valve key as used on fuel tankers (trucks)

A. W. Wheaton Brass Works of Newark New Jersey made valves and tank filling apparatus for the petroleum industry....


Edit: Duh - same company Wheaton Brass + Emco(Empire Mfg Co ) = emcowheaton ;P
