Title: what is this (automotive) tool?
Post by: william_b_noble on November 30, 2012, 12:39:40 AM
I bought this a long time ago, I'm pretty sure it's automotive (auto trans?) but for the life of me I can't remember what it's for (or if I ever really knew what it is for)

anybody got a clue?

Does it have " Kent-moore" on it somewhere?
I see the part number , but no name.
Looks like a tool , or part of a tool to pull tail shaft housing or bearings on transmission,
Just a guess.

Turn the hooks toward each other, and it looks somewhat like a coil spring compressor.  Just a WAG.

it is probably Kent Moore or one of the specialty places, but there is no maker's identification.

The hooks don't turn, they are welded solid.  I am sure it is not for coil springs per se, though since I don't know, I guess I could be wrong.  The rods are 12 inches long, .395 inches in diameter.
