Title: Tool Talk Secret Santa 2012
Post by: Papaw on November 06, 2012, 07:51:30 AM
The deadline to register is Friday, November 23rd, midnight EST. There will be NO exceptions to this deadline.

If you want to participate, here is how:

1: Post here, in this thread that you would like to participate. After you have posted here, send me a PM with the following information:
   Name:
   Address:
   Domestic or International Participant:
(Domestic participants will ship gifts ONLY within their own country, while International participants may have to ship to another country depending on the drawing.)

Note: It is critical to the success of the drawing to receive an adequate number of international participants so that our Non-USA members are not left out.

2: Once again, the absolute deadline to be involved in the Tool Talk Secret Santa is Friday, November 23rd, midnight EST. You MUST send the above requested information by this time if you want to join in.

3: If you choose to participate, and have followed the necessary steps thus far in sending me your contact information, you will receive a PM from me sometime between November 23rd and November 30th stating who you will be sending a gift to. The pairing will not necessarily be reciprocal, however it is possible, as the drawing will be completely random .

4: When you receive your recipients name, first and foremost, keep in mind, it is a secret! It is up to you to decide what to send as a gift, whether you look through their previous posts, or just pick something you like and believe they will too. While there is no set spending limit, under $25 is suggested. The gift can be new, used, or you can even make something yourself, but try and keep it tool related.

5: Please try and send your gift before December 12th to allow for delays in the shipping system. Don't forget to clearly mark your package with “Tool Talk Secret Santa” so the recipient doesn't accidently open the package before Christmas. Also, don't forget to include your username somewhere inside the package so the recipient knows who to thank! After you send your gift to your recipient, please send me a PM saying you sent it.

6: Upon receiving your gift in the mail, please send me a quick PM saying you got it so I can cross you off my list. Otherwise, be prepared to be pestered by PM’s from yours truly…

7: On December 25th, open your gift! Post pictures and thank your respective Secret Santa!

If anyone has any questions, concerns, or comments, please feel free to PM me, or email me at nhankamer@papawswrench.com

This morning I ripped open a box that came from Prince George  B.C. Canada.   Curiously hard and stiff contents.   Very imaginatively packed  tools, and things that will be used too.   A pair of P & C wrenches, an iron wrench by Sharples for a cream separator, a pristine Craftsman quarter inch breakover bar,  a curious little iron open end wrench barely 3 inches long,  a bakers dozen drill bits with square tapered shank, 2 of which will fill out sets I've been accumulating for a long time, and the icing is a pair of tiny oil cans that dovetail into my collection perfectly.   All this was packed into a stiff plastic tray that make the trip without anything poking out from the package.  My thanks go out to my Canadian Santa.

my secret Santa did not reveal his or her screen name. but I recived a lovely little 4" crestoloy adjustible to add to my meager 4" adjustable collection. a small wood handled monkey wrench, an SK wayne 1/2" extention, yellow Par-X screwdriver, and a small DBE rounded out the package.

Thank You whom ever you are

I'm a little slow getting my gift posted. I had it sent to my sons place in Oregon rather than to my home up in northern British Columbia ( trying to save Santa a penny or two in shipping costs). My wife and I have been travelling a fair bit in the last week and so has my son but we both got back home today he tells me I got a real nice looking adjustable length Jeweller saw.He did send me a picture but I can't figure out how to get it from my e mail to here. He forgot to tell me who it came from so I hope to get that info and some pics sometime tomorrow. So who ever you are you Santa THANKS A BUNCH it looks real nice and I do have a fair amount of saws of various types so this guy is going to look good hanging on the wall with the others.
