Title: What is this tool?
Post by: gtarmkr on October 01, 2012, 03:08:30 PM
Is this some kind of gear puller? It looks like a specialty tool for something. It measures 4-1/4" long with the threads all the way down. It has no name on it. But it has what looks like a Pat date that I can not read.

This looks like its cast iron?   The chuck with screw is what size?  And the hole where a bit protruded thru is how big?   How about another pic with  something alongside for size comparison?   Looks like some of the automatic transmission special pullers, but think this was old before automatics came about.   I'm curious about this thing.

Thanks for the reply, here are some quick pictures I took. And It looks like cast iron. The hole where a bit would fit into is about 1/8" wide.

Looks to me like a car door hinge pin remover.
