Title: unknown tool..

Found a tool that has old wooden handle a fold out blade that is bent at the end and a half moon shaped rubber coated fold out piece on other end..it has david dominicus on the blade..

In order to get any meaningful help on your question it would help if you posted some pictures.  It's awful hard to identify anything from a description.

A picture would really help more...
Also, how big is this thing? a few inches? several feet?

David Dominicus GMBH is a german company that dates back before the war, they made an enormous assortment of edge tools, axes, splitting wedges, files , tree saws/2man , bow etc, knives etc etc

Is what you are describing a rubber piece , or something roughly coated with rubber?
Almost sounds like a rubber workers tool.....
