Title: Here is an item I have never had an opportunity to buy until today! Howd I do?
Post by: rustynbent on July 30, 2012, 07:07:00 PM
I was emptying out a booth that I no longer wanted to have today and while talking to the manager I spied this little jewel in a box and not priced.  A quick call to the owner and 8 dollars later it was mine. I have never seen a brass nail puller before, so you guys need to tell me about it.  Thanks for looking    RNB

Holy Mackerel that is a Beryllium copper nail puller!!!
Gad I didn't know they existed!

For pulling nails at the gunpower factory or fireworks plant or gas refinery............yikes!!

I bet that cost $1000dollars new.
I bet they never sold but a handful.

Oh PS,
Do not wire brush it. Sanding is totally out of the question.
Beryllium dust is not friendly to humans.
 yours Scott

I've seen quite a few different ampco tools, but I didn't know they made a nail puller.

I have a small beryllium collection and I never pass them up when I see them. They are cool. On a side note, the best stereo speakers I have ever owned (and there have been many), are Yamaha NS1000 speakers, with, you guessed it, beryllium drivers. I understand that making the speakers was quite an engineering feat given that beryllium is very difficult to shape into speakers, but they are the best!
PS, if you'd like to swap something for your nail puller, I'd like a shot.

What scott said...Holey Mackeral!

That one is marked ALBR btw, it is alumnium-bronze alloy, no beryllium..

List price is over $200 for that thinggy, not including an approved hammer to go with it...

(do you have to use explosion proof nails?)

I have a jar of what looks like copper nails.  Would they work?
