Title: What is this Tool?
Post by: leg17 on July 25, 2012, 08:44:40 PM
Help.
What is this thing?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/190706425306?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

This one for sale is not mine, but I have one like it that I picked up with a bunch of gun-smithing tools.
Can anyone help?

Thanks
Tom

It is a saw set. Patent No. 5.810 of Sept. 26, 1848 issued to Abel Stillman of Poland, NY. I think it's the first saw set patent but they must of made them for a long time as they do show up.

They made at least 2 different sizes of the Stillman saw set. I have a small one in my bag of tricks.
